Cynthia is back in Massachusetts! She arrived late last night and has been trying to catch up with what has been going on back at “headquarters” since she left. She is now learning about how much is going on outside of the “disaster zone.”

Tonight she had a nice meeting with the group that is organizing a transport of supplies to Broken Down Dogs in Alexandria, LA. These North Shore residents have gathered a huge amount of supplies for the shelter and will be driving a horse trailer full of items down this week.

They are bringing much needed items like dog and cat food, kitty litter, food bowls, collars, leashes, shampoo, flea and tick medication, dog crates, towels, heartworm pills, dog toys, and newspapers.

The crew in this transport will then spend several days at the shelter helping in much the way that Cynthia, Karin, and Heidi did before. We also have two volunteers heading to Lamar-Dixon on Sunday, so this means we will be getting more updates!

Cynthia is also being reunited with Bogalusa (the dog she adopted when she was down there) tonight, something she has been looking forward to for a long time. We will have pictures of the reunion later tonight or tomorrow.
